02/16/2012

The crew for the movie Killing Season is gone and left with it dozens of memories for residents who spent the week tracking down John Travolta as he made appearances throughout Clayton.During the Convention and Visitors Bureau meeting last week, Camera Ready Chair Pam Thompson said that she had a chance to follow up with their experience in the area and it was very positive.Thompson said she’s confident this won’t be the last Rabun will see from production companies
According to CVB numbers, the movie had a direct economic impact of $194,000 in the area.More than that, it put Rabun County on the map with tons of free publicity, said Executive Director Pete Cleaveland.Parts of the crew are expected back in March for additional filming on the Chattooga River, though Travolta and Robert De Niro aren’t expected to make a return.
