Kirstie Alley: John Travolta was the love of my life

Kirstie Alley has revealed that there were sparks flying behind the scenes of the 1989 film, "Look Who's Talking."The 61-year-old actress sat down with Barbara Walters for an interview to air on "20/20," to promote her new book, "The Art Of Men." She told Walters that her co-star John Travolta was the "greatest love of my life" and nearly caused her to leave her then-husband, Parker Stevenson. According to ET Online, Alley told Walters, "Believe me, it took everything that I had, inside, outside, whatever, to not run off and marry John. And be with John for the rest of my life."John, 58 - who is married to Kelly Preston - was single when they met and when Kirstie was asked why she didn't leave her husband for her co-star, she insisted the institution of marriage was very important to her. When Walters asked why she didn't, Alley said, "Because I feel like when you marry someone you're supposed to work hard at it, and you're supposed to make it work." Travolta, 58, was single when "Look Who's Talking" was filmed. He married Kelly Preston in 1991, in between sequels "Look Who's Talking Too" and "Look Who's Talking Now." The "Look Who's Talking" franchise earned $198 million in the box office. Bruce Willis and Roseanne Barr voiced the pair's two kids, Mikey and Julie, in the films. Alley has been married twice - to distant cousin Bob Alley from 1970 until 1977 and to Stevenson from 1983 until 1997. Alley and Stevenson share custody of their two adopted children - William True and Lillie Price.
