ROBERT DE NIRO and John Travolta are teaming up to star in action movie “Killing Season” for Millenium Films and Corsan Pictures.
The movie, set in the Appalachian Mountains, is scheduled to begin production Jan. 16. Travolta had been eyeing “Gotti: In the Shadow of My Farther” as his next film. At one point, that project was also aiming for a January start, but now it appears Travolta has opted to take on “Killing Season” in that time slot.
Mark Steven Johnson (“Ghost Rider”) will direct from a script by Evan Daugherty (“Snow White and the Huntsman”). In the movie, De Niro will play a military vet, living in a remote cabin, who is visited by a European tourist (Travolta), who turns out to be a former Serbian soldier looking for revenge.In consultation with Corasan, Nu Image/Millennium is taking the lead on international sales, which will be offered at the American Film Market, which kicks off Nov. 2 in Santa Monica.
