John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John Planning More Christmas Music, Possible Movie Together

Remember John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John's very entertaining Christmas music video "I Think You Might Like It?"
Well, fans of the wonderfully cheesy Christmas jingle (like us!) are in luck because the Grease duo has plans for more holiday music!
"The thing is, we're going to try to add a couple of songs every year to that CD," Travolta told us at the G'Day USA Los Angeles Black Tie Gala in L.A. "And then maybe do a music video each year so, at the end of it all, we'll have a whole [collection]."
Is that a promise? "I hope so!" he smiled.
And more music isn't the only thing on the horizon. When asked if he could see any acting projects in the future for Newton-John and him, Travolta said, "Maybe connected to the Christmas idea…maybe a Christmas movie or maybe a Christmas special or something."
Meanwhile, Travolta also revealed that his and wife Kelly Preston's 12-year-old daughterElla and 2-year-old son Benjamin are following in his musical footsteps.
"My kids are musically inclined," the 58-year-old actor dished. "Of course, my son is two so it hasn't developed yet, but my daughter has lots of interests in musical instruments and she's a good singer."

Travolta's new Christmas song is No. 1 on Internet

John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John’s new Christmas song “I Think You Might Like It” hit No. 1 on UU-BRU Internet Radio on Friday.
The song was written by John Farrar, the man who penned the couple’s 1978 No. 1 smash “You’re The One That I Want” from the movie “Grease.”
Meanwhile, the video for “I Think You Might Like It,” filmed in Marion County and featuring several Ocala residents, has had nearly 7.9 million hits on YouTube.
“I Think You Might Like It” is an original song from the pair’s recent CD “This Christmas,” a collection of holiday standards performed with guest stars including Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, James Taylor and Chick Corea.
Proceeds from the CD benefit the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness Centre and the Jett Travolta Foundation.
UU-BRU Internet Radio is a request-based, multi-genre station that bills itself as the “electric, eclectic Top 40.” Up from No. 8 last week, “I Think You Might Like It” is an upbeat, country-tinged song about spending Christmas in your hometown.
Travolta and his family (including his wife, actress Kelly Preston) have called Marion County home for about a decade. They live in Anthony, where much of the music video was filmed with Newton-John.
Travolta on Friday night called the BRU top-chart news “very exciting.”

John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John team up again on radio show

It seems like long awaited reunions are like buses.

John, 58, looked dapper in a black suit, polka dot tie, and had also donned his trademark weave for his appearance on the show.Olivia, 64, meanwhile looked even better preserved than her co-star, and dressed to impress in a purple blazer, silver blouse and black leggings.
The English-born Australian singer and actress could not stop smiling as she laughed and joked with the macho actor. The couple teamed up to reprise their famous roles as Sandy and Danny for a charity song I Think You Might Like It.Is that a weave? Olivia seemed to be sharing a joke with her former leading man as they larked around together.Well preserved: The dynamic duo are looking in good condition considering she is 64 and he is 58.An early bath: It is the lead single from their hilarious benefit album This Christmas.John is giving his share of the money raised to the Jett Travolta Foundation, while Olivia will donate to her Cancer and Wellness Foundation.

"Baby It's Cold Outside"
I really can't stay - Baby it's cold outside
I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry
My father will be pacing the floor - Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry - Beautiful, please don't hurry
Well Maybe just a half a drink more - Put some music on while I pour
The neighbors might think - Baby, it's bad out there
Say, what's in this drink - No cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how - Your eyes are like starlight now
To break this spell - I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell
I ought to say no, no, no, sir - Mind if I move a little closer
At least I'm gonna say that I tried - What's the sense in hurting my pride
I really can't stay - Baby don't hold out
Ahh, but it's cold outside
C'mon baby
I simply must go - Baby, it's cold outside
The answer is no - Ooh baby, it's cold outside
This welcome has been - I'm lucky that you dropped in
So nice and warm -- Look out the window at that storm
My sister will be suspicious - Man, your lips look so delicious
My brother will be there at the door - Waves upon a tropical shore
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious - Gosh your lips look delicious
Well maybe just a half a drink more - Never such a blizzard before
I've got to go home - Oh, baby, you'll freeze out there
Say, lend me your comb - It's up to your knees out there
You've really been grand - Your eyes are like starlight now
But don't you see - How can you do this thing to me
There's bound to be talk tomorrow - Making my life long sorrow
At least there will be plenty implied - If you caught pneumonia and died
I really can't stay - Get over that old out
Ahh, but it's cold outside
Baby it's cold outside
Brr its cold...
It's cold out there
Cant you stay awhile longer baby
Well... I really shouldn't... alright
Make it worth your while baby
Ahh, do that again...

"Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree"
feat. Kenny G
Rocking around the Christmas tree
At the Christmas party hop
Mistletoe hung where you can see
Every couple tries to stop
Rocking around the Christmas tree,
Let the Christmas spirit ring
Later we'll have some pumpkin pie
And we'll do some caroling.
You will get a sentimental
Feeling when you hear
Voices singing let's be jolly,
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Rocking around the Christmas tree,
Have a happy holiday
Everyone dancing merrily
In the new old-fashioned way.

"I'll Be Home For Christmas"
feat. Barbra Streisand
I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree
Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light gleams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams

"Silent Night"
Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, All is bright
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child
Holy Infant so Tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight!
Glories stream from heaven afar;
Heavenly hosts sing Al-le-lu-ia!
Christ the Saviour is born!
Christ the Saviour is born!
Silent night, holy night!
Wondrous star, lend thy light!
With the angels let us sing
Alleluia to our King!
Christ the Saviour is here,
Jesus the Saviour is here!
Silent night, Holy night!
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord at thy birth;
Jesus Lord at thy birth.

"The Christmas Waltz"
Frosted window panes
Candles gleaming inside
Painted candy canes on the tree
Santa's on his way,
He's filled his sleigh
With things, things for you and for me
It's that time of year
When the world falls in love
Every song you hear
Seems to say
Merry Christmas
May your New Year dreams come true
And this song of mine
In three quarter time
Wishes you and yours
The same thing too
Merry Christmas
May your New Year dreams come true
And this song of mine
In three quarter time
Wishes you and yours
The same thing too
Merry Christmas to you

"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"
feat. Cliff Richard
Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
Our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
Our troubles will be miles away.
Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.
Through the years we all will be together
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

"Winter Wonderland"
feat. Tony Bennett and The Count Basie Orchestra
Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
Gone away is the bluebird,
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song,
As we go along,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
In the meadow we can build a snowman,
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say: Are you married?
We'll say: No man,
But you can do the job
When you're in town.
Later on, we'll conspire,
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid,
The plans that we've made,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
In the meadow we can build a snowman,
And pretend that he's a circus clown
We'll have lots of fun with mister snowman,
Until the other kids knock him down.
When it snows, ain't it thrilling,
Though your nose gets a chilling
We'll frolic and play, the Eskimo way,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
Walking in a winter wonderland,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

"White Christmas"
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten
And children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white.

"The Christmas Song"
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yule-tide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.
Everybody knows a turkey
And some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.
They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys
And goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer
Really know how to fly.
And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although it's been said
Many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you.

"Deck The Halls"
feat. James Taylor
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
'Tis the season to be jolly
Don we now our gay apparel
Troll the ancient Yule-tide carol
See the blazing Yule before us.
Strike the harp and join the chorus.
Follow me in merry measure.
While I tell of Yule-tide treasure.
Fast away the old year passes.
Hail the new year, lads and lasses
Sing we joyous, all together.
Heedless of the wind and weather.

"Auld Lang Syne / Christmas Time Is Here"
[Auld Lang Syne]
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
And surely ye'll be your pint-stowp,
And surely I'll be mine!
And we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
We twa hae run about the braes,
And pu'd the gowans fine;
But we've wandered mony a weary fit
Sin' auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
We twa hae paidled i' the burn,
Frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roared
Sin' auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
And there's a hand, my trusty fiere,
And gie's a hand o' thine!
And we'll tak a right guid-willie waught
For auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
[Christmas Time Is Here]
Christmas time is here
Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call
Their favorite time of the year
Snowflakes in the air
Carols everywhere
Olden times and ancient rhymes
Of love and dreams to share
Sleigh bells in the air
Beauty everywhere
Yuletide by the fireside
And joyful memories there
Christmas time is here
We'll be drawing near
Oh, that we could always see
Such spirit through the year
Oh, that we could always see
Such spirit through the year...

I Think You Might Like It

Here comes my home town
So good to get my wheels down
I’m coming home tonight
Here comes that magical spell of Christmas Eve
There’s nothing you can do
But wear your heart upon your sleeve

My mind is going
A little crazy knowing
You’re coming home tonight
I can’t help smiling at strangers on my street
I’m singing to myself
And tripping over my own feet

I’m coming home
I got a little plan for you
I think you might like it
Let’s do the little dance we do
I think you might like it
And then we’re gonna hide away
Making love all night
And we can cry tomorrow
Watching ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’
Oooh.. think you might like it

Oh baby I can’t lie
So many gonna call by
You’re coming home tonight
Your momma sings sweetly
Do you hear what I hear
But in a little while
She’ll be swinging from the chandelier

No stopping Aunt Louise
Tickling the ivories
I’m coming home tonight
Whole town gonna be there
It will be a squeeze
You’d better put your sleigh
In a holding pattern Santa please

I’m coming home
I got a little plan for you
I think you might like it
Let’s do the little dance we do
I think you might like it
And then we’re gonna hide away
Making love all night
And we can cry tomorrow
Watching ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’

I got a little plan for you
(I like it)
Let’s do the little dance we do
(Mmmm.. I like it)
And then we’re gonna hide away
Making love all night
And we can cry tomorrow
Watching ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’
Let’s do the little dance we do
I think you might like it

Olivia Newton-john - Olivia Newton-John has great 'rapport' with Travolta

Olivia Newton-John has great 'rapport' with Travolta

Olivia Newton-John insists she and John Travolta have a great ''rapport'' which has lasted 34 years since they starred together in 'Grease'.
Olivia Newton-John says her great ''rapport'' with John Travolta has lasted over 30 years.
The actress and actor have teamed up to record a Christmas album - the first time they have worked together since starring in 1983 film 'Two of a Kind' and 34 years since they appeared in 'Grease' - and she insists their bond is really strong even though they don't see much of each other.
Speaking to British TV show 'Daybreak', she said: ''We don't see each other often because we both have our own lives and things, but it's like picking up where we left off, so we've stayed in touch over the years.
''We always have a great rapport with each other and it's always very comfortable. We got together to go over the songs and it was like nothing had ever changed.''
'This Christmas' features a host of festive classics such as 'White Christmas', 'Deck the Halls' and 'Baby, It's Cold Outside' and Olivia says John really helped her get to grip with the tracks in the recording studio.
She added: ''He sounds great on those songs and loves them and knows them backwards and I felt very comfortable with it.''
The two stars are donating all artist proceeds from the album equally to their respective charities, the Jett Travolta Foundation for children's disabilities and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre.

“You’re the One That I Want” Songwriter, John Farrar Contributes To New Original Duet
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 2, 2012— When your first single from the Grease album, the biggest movie musical of all time, is chart-topping “You’re the One That I Want,  and it becomes the best-selling duet in pop music history -  that’s a tough act to follow.  But almost 35 years later, John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John have combined their iconic voices for This Christmas, available November 13 from Universal Music Enterprises.  A true labor of love made specifically for “the giving season,” Travolta and Newton-John will donate the artist proceeds from the album equally to their respective charities, the Jett Travolta Foundation and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
One of the highlights of the album is the one original song, the aptly titled “I Think You Might Like It.” This is the sequel to John and Olivia’s Grease smash, “You’re the One That I Want,” a new tune by that song’s writer/producer John Farrar, marking yet another This Christmas-spawned reunion. “John Farrar was just as hard on me now as he was then,” laughs Travolta. “We went for perfection on it.” “It was really fun to do that,” says Olivia. “If it wasn’t for that song, we wouldn’t be here talking about it 30 years later.”
Produced by veteran keyboardist/arranger/orchestrator Randy Waldman, This Christmas is the audio equivalent of those classic network TV specials hosted from the stars’ homes, an intimate, warm set of traditional holiday songs from an all-star lineup that includes Barbra Streisand (“I’ll Be Home for Christmas”), Tony Bennett and the Count Basie Orchestra (“Winter Wonderland”), James Taylor (“Deck the Halls”), Chick Corea (“This Christmas”), Kenny G (“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”), Cliff Richard (“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”) and  the original “I Think You Might Like It” by writer/producer John Farrar.
The idea for the collection came from Travolta after receiving a Christmastime text from his old friend Olivia noting that their 1978 smash, “You’re the One That I Want,” had just become the best-selling duet in pop music history. “From the moment we decided to do this, magic happened,” says Travolta. “Everyone we contacted agreed to do it.”
“It just fell into place,” added Newton-John, a four-time Grammy® winner, who has scored five No. 1 singles and two chart-topping albums, selling a total of more than 100 million albums worldwide. “With our busy schedules, I don’t know how we got it done. John and I have always connected. That’s never gone away. When we’re together, we have a good laugh and feel bonded to one another. We’ve been through some amazing experiences together.”
“My desire was to make This Christmas an intimate album, not something too ostentatious or showy,” says Travolta, who early in his career was featured as an actor/singer/dancer with the touring company of Grease. “I wanted people to be able to play it around the house or in the car during the holidays, and make us part of your celebration. Gathering around house listening to Christmas music has always been an important part of that time of the year to my family.”
But the real importance of This Christmas is the money it will raise to fund Travolta and Newton-John’s charities – one to combat children’s disabilities, including autism and seizures, named after John’s late son, Jett; the other to help search for a cure for cancer and to help victims of the disease.
“We all felt a wonderful, joyful energy while recording this album,” adds Olivia. “We want to make a lot of people smile and happy. It’s a project that we’re hoping turns into a perennial, one that can continue to raise money for these causes year after year, a gift that keeps on giving.”

John Travolta - Grease Stars Recreate Film's Fly-away Ending In New Music Video

Grease Stars Recreate Film's Fly-away Ending In New Music Video
John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John have given fans a taste of what became of their Grease characters in a new music video.
The duo decided to have some fun with the I Think You Might Like It promo, by filming scenes featuring a 1955 Thunderbird - the car that flew off with Sandy Olsen and Danny Zuko at the end of the classic 1978 musical.
And Travolta says, "We're dressed kinda like we were then but different."
The promo also features Travolta's actress wife Kelly Preston and their children and "all the people I've made friends with in the Ocala, Florida area in the last 10 years". The Travoltas live in Ocala.
The video isn't the pair's only new link with Grease - John Farrar, who composed the tracks for the stars' new holiday album This Christmas, is the man behind the film's classic finale tune You're the One That I Want.
Proceeds from the album, which features I Think You Might Like It, will benefit the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Center in her native Australia and the actor's Jett Travolta Foundation, the charity he set up to honour his late son.

John Travolta: 'I'm a collector of hot cocoa'

Wednesday, Dec 5 2012, 16:30

John Travolta has revealed that he is a collector of hot cocoa brands from around the world. The Savages star stopped byThe Ellen DeGeneres Show to share that his favourite holiday tradition is to drink hot cocoa with his family."It represents winter wonderlands, it represents Christmas," Travolta explained to DeGeneres, adding: "I've collected various types of cocoa from around the world."Travolta also discussed his and Olivia Newton-John's holiday record This Christmas, which will benefit the actor's charity for children with disabilities."All the proceeds go to our charities… Autism and seizures are the least known areas of illnesses," Travolta said. "I feel bad that there's so many people dealing with this and there are no answers for them. "So, I felt like starting a foundation that will help that. Plus, I widened it. It's also for handicapped children and the handicapped Olympics. It's also for underprivileged children. So I widened my purpose a bit there too."
Travolta and Kelly Preston established the charity as a tribute to their son Jett, who passed away in 2009.The Ellen DeGeneres Show is airing its Travolta interview today (Wednesday).

The 'Grease!' actor - who has children Ella, 12, and Benjamin, two, with wife Kelly Preston - says the sweet drink reminds him of Christmas, and he loves the way different varieties from around the world have very different tastes.
He said: ''It represents winter wonderlands, it represents Christmas. I've collected various types of cocoa from around the world.''
He then showed talk show host Ellen DeGeneres a number of different types, explaining how Brazilian cocoa powder has a ''hint of cinnamon and pepper'' which differentiates it from types from other countries.
However, a seemingly unimpressed Ellen replied: ''Smells like chocolate.''
John, 58, went on to explain that people should be careful how they handle cocoa powder because any impurities from air or touch can affect its quality.
He said: ''Never blow on it. Like a fine wine, it changes the quality of the chocolate. So, never, ever blow on it.''
John was appearing on Ellen's show to promote his festive album with Olivia Newton John, 'This Christmas'. All proceeds from the record are going to charitable causes.
And the actor's share of the money will benefit the Jett Travolta Foundation - named in memory of his autistic son who died aged 16 after suffering a seizure in the Bahamas in January 2009 - and he hopes the organisation can support people dealing with similar conditions, as well as other handicapped and underprivileged kids.
He explained: ''Autism and seizures are the least known areas of illnesses and I feel bad that there's so many people dealing with this and there are no answers for. So, I felt like starting a foundation that will help that. Plus, I widened it. It's also for handicapped children and the handicapped Olympics. It's also for underprivileged children. So I widened my purpose a bit there, too.''
Olivia - who survived breast cancer - will give of all of her proceeds to her eponymous Cancer and Wellness Foundation.
