John Travolta in Chile

24-3-2012
Just at noon, the Boeing 707 of actor John Travolta, landed at Santiago International Airport, marking the first commercial scheduled flight Qantas on Monday 26 March. The plane from Cancun in Mexico (where we assume the actor bothered to interrupt their holidays), is a 707-138B built in 1964 CN: 18740, owned by Qantas, registered VH-EBM and named "City of Launceston. "In November 1968, the aircraft was removed from service and stored in the Sydney airport without engines. In June 1969, the aircraft was acquired by Braniff International Airways and registered N108BN. Between 1972 and 1975 the plane was owned by singer Frank Sinatra. Throughout his career, passed from hand to hand, and stored until a long time in September 1996 with only 27,682 hours flown was put up for sale. On May 20, 1998, was registered to Jet Clipper Johnny LLC (John Travolta) and in December of that year changed N707JT enrollment. The plane was named "Jett Clipper Ella" in honor of their two children Jett and Ella and to honor Pan Am clipper appointed all its aircraft with the name clipper. In 2002 the aircraft returned to its original owner, Qantas, and Travolta became a goodwill ambassador for the airline, for which the airplane was painted in the classic V-Jet livery, the aircraft original colors dressed in their early years of life. Travolta has accumulated no small amount of 5000 flight hours since 1974.
