JOHN TRAVOLTA'S COMING TO CHILE IN DEBUT OF QANTAS AIRLINES FLIGHTS
The actor is an ambassador for the Australian airline to be released in our country next Monday, March 26, with a direct flight between Sydney and Santiago.
American actor and ambassador for the Australian airline Qantas, John Travolta, will land in Chile on Monday 26 March to welcome the first direct flight between Sydney and Santiago.
The artist, known worldwide for his performance in films like "Fever Saturday Night", "Glitter Grease," "Pulp Fiction", "Look Who's Talking" and "counterpart", come to our country to participate in activities related to Qantas launched its maiden flight and Santiago-Sydney non-stop.
RELATIONSHIP WITH QANTAS TRAVOLTA
The airline chose Travolta as its official ambassador because of his fascination with flying. The actor started with this hobby since I was very young, buying his first plane when he was only 20 years.
In 2001, after the terrorist attacks in New York, John Travolta wanted to play an important role in encouraging people to fly again. It was then decided to start a relationship with Qantas that continues to this day.
The actor was attracted by the airline because of its safety record and because it had the longest flight routes in the world. Today he owns a Boeing 707 that belonged to Qantas.
QANTAS AIRLINE IS THE THIRD WORLD'S OLDEST
Almost a year after the start of their relationship with the airline (June 2002), Travolta was officially launched its Boeing 707-400, having completed his training at the headquarters of Qantas in Australia. It was then that he became "Special Ambassador" of the airline.
With this partnership, John Travolta has led various events like the inauguration of the first direct flight between Brisbane and Los Angeles, celebrating 50 years of direct flights between Australia and the U.S. and the 90th anniversary of the airline.
Qantas is the national airline of Australia and the oldest and largest. It is also the third oldest currently operating in the world.
On March 26, 2012 Qantas opened its direct flights between Sydney and Santiago with his One World Partner LAN.
